things happening

I am getting so slack with keeping up with this blog! Maybe I need to just aim on one post a month and then maybe it will get done! Here is October's post... :)

Demolished old deck...

Begun new deck... (deck completed photo due in December post ;)

Went on our annual visit to Hastings Pool...

Encountered the very beginnings of summer...

Time at home having fun (and trying not to strangle each other please Django!)...

No photos of the billion hours Damon spent at work or I spent washing, cleaning, nose blowing, etc! Oh, and baby was busy wiggling constantly but I failed to get a photo of my wiggle pot too, soon enough there should be lots :)

Uncle James

Where we going Daddy?

We all headed off to visit Uncle James recently, who lives, guess where...

We had lots of fun, the highlight being seeing James of course, followed closely, for the boys, the monorail which we had prime viewing of from our apartment window... "gween monowail Da-go!" Nanna took the boys for 'woops' on the 'monowail' on a couple of times, who needs luna park when there is a monorail?

China town night market for some Japanese Pizza goodness...

Chips on the beach at Manly where the Manly Jazz Festival was in full swing.
Happy Damon got to hear his favourite jazz guitarist, James Muller :)
Not so happy Damon found that he only got to hear the last song in the set before the band packed up :(

Big crabs at the fish markets. We ate well that night thanks Nanna! - barramundi, Morton Bay bugs and scollops, mmmm!
These photo was taken in a restaurant where there were many tanks full of different kinds of fish, crabs and crays. Next to the tanks of happy healthy fish there was a tank full of a variety of the fish which were not so happy and healthy, obviously in fresh water, slowly drowning before becoming lunch. Maybe this was a slightly more enlightening sealife experience for the boys than the Sydney Aquarium (and certainly easier on the wallet!)!

Japanese delicacies in Darling Harbour. Luckily there were chips on the menu for Theo :)

Yay, a surprise on the last night - fireworks!
(which Theo kept accidentally calling waterworks)
So many thanks to Mum for such a memorable holiday!
It was so good to see James, spend time with 'Nanna' and 'Grandpa', experience the IKEA madness as we had lots of fun trying to chose which flatpacked bargains to fill James' flat with, experience some of Sydney with the boys, and to bring some of our rain to the dry shores of Sydney - the heavy clouds followed us all the way from our drenched state.

Spring

Well, actually, these were taking in the dying days of winter, but thanks to our becoming so well acclimatised, it only needs to hit 15 to feel like it is summer! So off the the beach for a picnic with cousins! The thing about Tassie winter is you REALLY appreciate when spring rears its pretty face. (and, look a these boys, were did our babies go so quickly?)

Happy Birthday Theodore!

So now Theo is two and what a happy, smiley, giggly, lovely little boy he is!

We started the day off with a present, which is a bit of a hit with all three boys (Daddy avoided the picture in his pjs!)...

...followed by a day in the botanical gardens, where Theo and Django ran from one end to the other...

...they even found a rainbow cake which was carefully inspected and smarties tested thoroughly...

...followed by Theo's favourite, chips and sauce and something else against his mother's wishes, but heartily endorsed by big brother and daddy and highly approved of by Theo...

...then today, what a big celebration for a little boy, a party with nearly all his favourite people, and the much requested and talked about train cake (which is very similar to Django's last cake, but Theo would not be dissuaded no matter how hard I tried!!) Thanks to everyone who made this such a fun time for him!
